Hirda celebrated 10th anniversary of Hirda

Hirda foundation celebrated her 10th anniversary together with the foundation Doses of Hope, a Somalia-Dutch Development Organisation on the 30th of May 2008. DOH does her work especially in the Northern part of Somalia also called Somaliland.

The celebration of the tenth-year existence of both foundations brought together other foundations, government institutions and invited guests.

Chantal Gillard from the Dutch Labour Party (PVDA) - member of the House of Common, held the opening speech as the spokesperson for the Development Cooperation Medical Ethics said, "Today I want to congratulate both NGO'S for their tenth anniversaries. For the fact, that they did not only rebuild their lives here, but also gave something back to their native countries. Besides, they do not think only of their families but they have been catering for others in their communities.

The purpose of the 30th of May conference was not only to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the existence of the foundations but also to discuss their progress and projects. This happened during the workshops whereby the four items: Education, Micro-finance, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and HIV/Aids were discussed. In order to tackle the obstacles of these subjects, strong issues were raised.
